The Local Police of Ibiza has launched a campaign of information and control of vehicles and parking management to encourage rotation. During the actions, the agents will also check if the cars have the relevant compulsory insurance and if they have passed the Technical Inspection of Vehicles (ITV).
With this campaign, the City Council of Ibiza will continue with the actions to prevent the abandonment of cars and adopt measures for the management of parking in the municipality. In this regard, they recall that the municipal ordinance establishes the prohibition of camping and staying overnight in the city’ s parkings and its breach is punishable by 750 euros. On the other hand, the maximum time a vehicle can be parked in the same area is 72 hours. That is to say, if the Local Police find that the inspected vehicles remain parked in the same place for more than 72 hours, fines may be imposed. The access of large vehicles to some of the deterrent parking areas has also been restricted and therefore only cars can park there. During this campaign, the Ibiza Local Police will also check if the inspected vehicles have the relevant compulsory insurance (not having it may involve a penalty of 900 euros) and if they have passed the Technical Inspection of Vehicles, ITV. Not having passed during the corresponding date is penalized with 200 euros.
