The Consell de Govern has given the green light to the construction of the new nursery and primary school in Santa Eulària, which will be called CEIP Es Faralló and will have 457 school places.
The Regional Ministry of Education and Universities has catalogued this project as a“priority”, since Santa Eulària is the municipality of Ibiza with “more newly arrived students”, which makes it essential to open a center with two complete lines to “meet the demand” for schooling and maintain “adequate” ratios. The works of Es Faralló, declared in November as “investment of regional interest”, will provide the municipality with a reference center, which will have:
- 6 early childhood education units
- 12 elementary school classrooms
- Specific Educational Unit in an Ordinary Center
Santa Eulària, a municipality with a growing school network
At present, Santa Eulària has eight infant and primary schools, distributed between the urban center and the different towns of the municipality. The schools of Santa Eulària, Sant Ciriac and Venda d’Arabí are located in the town, while the villages of Jesús, Puig d’en Valls, Sant Carles, Santa Gertrudis and S’Olivera have their own facilities. The construction of the CEIP Es Faralló is part of the Educational Infrastructure Plan, which foresees the creation of 13 new centers for Ibiza and the expansion or refurbishment of 24 more in the next decade.
