The Second Section of the Provincial Court of Palma will hold next Tuesday (09.30 am) the preliminary hearing of the trial against a man who faces four years in prison after being caught carrying MDMA, LSD, cocaine and cannabis at a roadblock in Ibiza.
According to the Prosecutor’s Office in its indictment, the facts date back to the night of June 13, 2021, when the Civil Guard stopped the defendant at the traffic circle at the entrance to the municipality of Santa Eulalia. When they searched his vehicle they found various quantities of MDMA, LSD, cocaine, ketamine and cannabis that he allegedly intended to sell or distribute to third parties on the island of Ibiza itself. Specifically, the agents seized 26 doses of LSD, 28.6 grams of MDMA, 14 grams of cocaine, 39.9 grams of cannabis and 6.1 grams of ketamine. They also seized 19.9 grams of psilocybin – a hallucinogen – and several bottles of GBL, a precursor chemical with which liquid ecstasy can be obtained. All these narcotic substances add up, according to the calculations of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, to a value of more than 4,000 euros on the illicit market. The 32-year-old man, who was detained for three days after his arrest, was also seized 1,390 euros in cash from the sale of drugs. The prosecutor considers that these facts constitute a crime against public health, for which the accused is sentenced to four years in prison and a fine of 11,368 euros.
