This afternoon, around 15:00 hours, the Camino de Benimusa has been the scene of a serious accident that has generated commotion in the area. A Volkswagen Polo, while trying to avoid another car with which it had collided, lost control and overturned several times until it was left with the wheels up.
The sole occupant of the vehicle, a woman of Italian nationality, sustained injuries of varying degrees of severity, particularly to her skull. Due to the seriousness of her condition, she was rushed by ambulance to receive specialized medical attention.
The Ibiza Fire Department had to intervene to free the driver, who was trapped inside the car. The extrication maneuvers included cutting the roof of the vehicle, which allowed her rescue.
Meanwhile, members of the Municipal Police and the Guardia Civil were in charge of regulating traffic on the Camino de Benimusa, avoiding further incidents in this busy stretch. A boom crane from Auxilio Carretera de Grúas Ibiza was in charge of removing the accident vehicle, allowing traffic to resume normally.
This accident once again highlights the need for extreme caution on Ibiza’s roads, especially on secondary roads such as Camino de Benimusa.
