UGT Public Services has informed that the Justice has rejected the appeal against a sentence that gave the union the reason in relation to the minimum services established by the Consell de Formentera in the garbage strike called during last Easter.
In a statement, UGT recalled that it has already managed to leave without effect the “abusive and disproportionate” minimum services established by the Consell. In addition, Justice upheld the ratification of precautionary measures and ordered the Consell de Formentera to pay the costs.
The Consell filed an appeal against the sentence, generating a new judicial pronouncement this February in which the arguments of the administration were again rejected and it was once again ratified that the fundamental right to strike as stated in article 28.2 of the Constitution was violated, again condemning the Consell de Formentera to pay costs.
From UGT Public Services have celebrated this judicial pronouncement that, in their opinion, “proves once again” that there was a violation of the right to strike by the Consell.
The union has asked the insular institution to transfer the costs of the process to the politicians who defended the “aberration” of decreed minimum services and who are legally insisting on a process that does not favor any of the parties, UGT has indicated.
