The offices of Child Protection and the Teaching delegations of the dioceses of Mallorca, Menorca and Ibiza have launched a course on prevention of child sexual abuse and promotion of safe spaces, which will be taught in virtual format between February 23 and March 30, 2026.
The training, officially accredited and with a total duration of 10 hours, is aimed primarily at teachers and teachers of Religion, although other teachers interested in the subject and professionals working with children and adolescents can also enroll. The course has limited places for 70 participants, and registration is already open through the form available at this link.
Five training modules
The program includes five units focused on different aspects of child abuse prevention and detection. These include children’s rights, current legislation and active protocols, the definition and typology of sexual abuse, risk factors and warning signs, and the role of the environment as an element of both risk and protection.
Prevention tools based on the protocols adopted by the bishoprics of Mallorca, Menorca and Ibiza will also be presented, with the aim of reinforcing security in educational and pastoral spaces linked to the dioceses.
Promoting prevention and safe environments
The main objectives of this initiative include providing basic knowledge on children’s rights, raising awareness of existing protocols for dealing with abuse situations, and stressing the importance of prevention and the creation of safe environments for children and adolescents.
With this joint training, the Balearic dioceses reaffirm their commitment to the protection of minors and social awareness against any form of violence or abuse, promoting a culture of care, vigilance and shared responsibility.
