Solidarity is also part of the daily life of the Health Emergency Service. The 061 professionals of Ibiza and Formentera have taken a step further in their social commitment with the launch of the charity calendar “Emergencias con Corazón” (Emergencies with Heart), whose proceeds will go entirely to the Multiple Sclerosis Association of Ibiza and Formentera (AEMIF).
The initiative has a twofold objective: to make visible the work carried out by the emergency services on the islands and to contribute financially to the work of an organization that accompanies people affected by neurological diseases and injuries of cerebral and cardiovascular origin. The forecast is to sell 600 units, which would raise between 4,000 and 4,500 euros.
An initiative that was born spontaneously
The origin of the calendar dates back to a shift last September. It was then when, informally, several professionals of SAMU 061 began to consider the possibility of promoting a solidarity action. This was explained by Vicente Nadal, UGT delegate in the Balearic Islands of the public company GSAIB, who stressed that the idea came “naturally” among colleagues.
From that conversation came the proposal to create a project that would channel the social commitment of the healthcare community and transform it into direct aid for an association in the surrounding area.
Representation of all professional categories
The project was promoted by Mónica Álvarez, nurse; Ángel Crespo, physician; and Vicente Nadal, health emergency technician, a trio representing the main professional categories of the service.
“The objective was to do our bit and help an association in need,” explained the promoters. In that process, the choice of AEMIF was clear. “It works with people suffering from neurological diseases and injuries, many of them linked to emergencies that we deal with on a daily basis,” they pointed out.
Under this premise, the name “Emergencias con Corazón” (Emergencies with Heart) was coined , a name that seeks to reflect the most human side of healthcare work.
Involvement of ground and air medical transport.
The calendar has the altruistic participation of professionals of the land and air medical transport of SAMU 061 and GSAIB in Ibiza and Formentera. To this is added the collaboration of the company AVINCIS, concessionaire of air medical transport of SAMU 061 in the Balearic Islands.
Technicians, nurses, doctors, service managers and personnel linked to the emergency helicopters have collaborated selflessly in this initiative, reinforcing a project that unites solidarity, service vocation and commitment to the Pitiusa society.
If you want, in the next post I can further refine the SEO, adapt the approach to a more local edition or give it a more human or institutional nuance, depending on what you need.
