This has been verified by La Voz de Ibiza from information provided to this editor by workers of the service subcontracted by the APB and whose complaints are added to the terrible working conditions advanced by this medium.
With photos and videos, which are in possession of this medium, workers have documented these irregularities: pruning thrown in common containers, in addition to denouncing terrible working conditions.

“Every day we throw the prunings into the rejection container,” they have explained anonymously for fear of losing their jobs in the company Serveo Servicios, in charge of these tasks.

The firm Serveo Services has won the tender for Lot 1 of the maintenance of the common areas of the port of Ibiza for a period of 12 months, with an extension for the same period. According to the website of the General State Administration, the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility had proposed a base budget of 1,620,007.43 euros excluding taxes. Serveo won with a bid of 1,365,014.58 euros.

Useless recycling garbage cans
Despite the separation at source that is usually done in the offices of the APB, then everything is mixed. “Those that are taken from the separate garbage cans, all go into the same container: large black bags and into the same container,” said a Serveo worker. The same thing happens with the debris generated by gardening work. “To save money, instead of asking for a pruning container to throw the agricultural waste we are putting it in black industrial bags and then into the normal containers. This way on a daily basis,” he added.
By regulation, they should have on site a large construction site type bucket to throw there the pruning waste for then its correct deposition in the facilities enabled for its reception and / or use.
“This is an irregularity. Then you get fined for throwing garbage after hours and these people are throwing the kilos of waste in the normal containers,” he said logically.
In addition, “the foreman blames the port”. The worker has detailed that “Serveo collects all the garbage from all over the port: streets, trash garbage cans, etc. Instead of recycling and separating, it throws it in black bags into the reject container.”
According to what he said, on several occasions the specialized company that then removes that waste has warned them about the irregularities.
“Many times they have not taken the garbage because they found plates, radiators, batteries…”. The company contracted by the APB is in charge of cleaning, gardening and care of interior and exterior spaces.
It is a company specialized in public sector contracts that also provides services at the Can Misses Hospital, among others.
APB looks the other way
From the APB have disengaged, to questions from La Voz de Ibiza, of the malpractices denounced and documented by the worker. “It is an internal issue that the company is responsible for resolving,” said an official spokesman of the entity.
