The Guardia Civil has arrested three skippers of Maghrebi origin of two pateras cabs that arrived in Formentera early last week. One of them fled on the high seas until the Guardia Civil was able to hold the boat. The skipper of the boat that sprayed the agents with gasoline is still on the run, as confirmed this morning to La Voz de Ibiza. In addition, two other skippers of a patera cab that was sailing towards Formentera and which had not been reported as a patera cab were also arrested. It was located by the Civil Guard helicopter from Murcia. The curious thing about this case is that the skipper of the boat quickly abandoned the government of the boat to be replaced by a hooded crew member, a move that they usually do to avoid being identified upon reaching the coast and face crimes against the rights of foreign citizens and favoring illegal immigration and end up in custody, as has been the case of the three detainees, as reported this morning by the body. The skiff was transferred to Ibiza, where the two individuals were arrested. It was also the Air Service of the Civil Guard who detected one of the powerful inflatable boats that arrived in Formentera last Monday, October 21. Upon noticing it, the skipper fled at full speed for about half an hour. Finally, the Maritime Service of the Guardia Civil managed to seize the vessel and guard it until the coast. At that moment the arrest took place.
