In solidarity with the victims and in memory of the victims of the recent hurricane, the trade unions CCOO, UGT and USO in Ibiza have confirmed their adhesion to the national call for rallies for this Friday. The appointment in Ibiza will be in front of the Consell Insular at 12.00 hours, in a ten-minute concentration in which workers will be able to express their sorrow and support to those affected. This call seeks to pay tribute to the lives lost and also send a message of support to those who have suffered the loss of their assets or face job uncertainty due to the impact of the DANA. In its statement, CCOO has stressed the importance of public resources being mobilized quickly to protect jobs, businesses and ensure shelter for those affected.
A call for unity in times of crisis
The mobilization in Ibiza is part of a nationwide movement supported by the main trade unions, which have also transferred the call to the employers’ association CEOE, which has shown its support for this initiative. In the words of the unions, these acts represent a “call for unity” and a collective effort in favor of the “reconstruction of the damage and reparation of the victims”, with the commitment to protect fundamental rights in this difficult context.
