The judge of the National Court Francisco de Jorge has sent to provisional prison the six arrested in Spain – one of them in Ibiza – in the framework of the operation carried out last Friday by the Moroccan and Spanish police that involved the dismantling of a cell of the Islamic State with a total of nine detainees in both countries. According to legal sources, the holder of the Court number 1 of the Audiencia took this decision after the extension of the police detention was authorized due to the volume of information obtained in the searches in Spain and Morocco. It is a question of two investigated for belonging to a terrorist organization, three for collaboration with a terrorist organization and one for self-training and self-training, the sources specified. The Moroccan and Spanish police dismantled last Friday a terrorist cell affiliated to the Sahel branch of the jihadist organization Islamic State (Daesh), in a joint operation that has involved the arrest of three people in the Moroccan towns of Tetouan and Castillejos (Fnideq) and six in the Spanish towns of Madrid, Ibiza and Ceuta. This was reported by the Moroccan Central Bureau of Judicial Investigation (BCIJ, anti-terrorist body) in a statement reported by the official MAP agency. In the operation, developed jointly and simultaneously between the security services of both countries, searches have been carried out in the homes of the detainees, in which the agents have seized bladed weapons and computer equipment. According to the Moroccan BCIJ note, preliminary investigations point out that some of the detainees had been arrested in terrorism cases in Spain and held meetings in Ceuta and Tetouan to plan terrorist acts on behalf of the Islamic State before becoming part of the branch of this terrorist organization in the Sahel region of Africa.
