The Ibiza Trail 2024 will start this Friday, November 29th and will run until Sunday, December 1st. The competition, which this year marks an all-time record of participation, will bring together athletes from 45 different nationalities, highlighting the strong presence of women, who represent 41% of those registered. This event not only celebrates the sporting spirit, but also the island’s connection to its unique culture and landscapes. The opening race will be a night race through the historic center of Dalt Vila, where runners will light up the streets of the walled city, a World Heritage Site. On Saturday, the most demanding races will be held, with routes designed for different levels and that will run through the municipalities of Sant Josep de sa Talaia, Es Cubells and Cala d’Hort. Sunday will close the event with a daytime race in Santa Eulalia del Río, offering a more relaxed and charming route.
An event with big names and a collaborative spirit
Among the participants are renowned athletes such as Andreu Simón, Eli Gordón, Miguel Heras, Núria Picas and Chema Martínez, who will compete in the most challenging modalities. Along with them, amateur and local athletes will demonstrate that trail running is not only a competition, but also a celebration of personal improvement. The success of this event would not be possible without the collaboration of 150 volunteers, who will perform key tasks in the organization and logistics. This joint effort reinforces the community character of the Ibiza Trail, consolidating it as an international benchmark in the organization of sporting events.
