The City Council of Santa Eulària presented this week to the residents of Santa Gertrudis the proposal to remodel and improve the environment of the local soccer field, a proposal that will allow the construction of a grandstand with about a hundred seats, some of them covered, in addition to improving mobility and accessibility of the environment. The intervention will also redistribute the parking spaces to improve circulation and make better use of the space without losing parking. The mayor of Santa Eulària, Carmen Ferrer, showed the proposal in one of the meetings that are usually held with neighbors in each of the areas of the municipality known as ‘Digues la teua‘ in which, in addition to presenting the residents and know their opinion on municipal proposals, also know their requests and demands.
The soccer stadium
In the case of the soccer field renovation project, this will include different actions to improve the surroundings of the soccer field and the parking lot in front of the Municipal Pool and the Escoleta. The most outstanding intervention will be the installation next to the swimming pool of bleachers 26 meters long and 4.30 meters wide with a capacity for 96 people. Currently, the stadium has removable bleachers of very similar dimensions located on the far side of the pool. This new space for spectators will have an area with a wide visor to offer shade to a good part of the seats, a significant improvement over the current situation in which attendees are exposed to both sun and rain. In addition, the bleachers will take advantage of the spaces under the seats to provide more storage space. This action is carried out once the cafeteria of the multipurpose building attached to the soccer field comes into operation , a space that was inaugurated yesterday and that allows the closure of the current bar. In addition to this intervention, different demolitions are being carried out in order to renovate the passage areas for people so that they do not present obstacles, especially for people with reduced mobility. All this together with some landscaping tasks and redistributing the existing parking spaces both between the current parking space in front of the swimming pool and in front of the soccer field. With the intervention, the 71 available parking spaces will be maintained. The project presented has an estimated budget of 1.06 million euros, including VAT.
