The festive spirit takes the streets of Sant Antoni with the start of the Festival of the Holy Family, a celebration that combines local traditions, musical performances and solidarity activities. Organized by the City Council and the Association of Neighbors of Can Bonet, the festivities promise to be a meeting point for all generations, from December 13 to January 18.
A start with flavor and music
The opening day, December 13, will bring with it the popular Can Bonet Tapea-t tour, where attendees can taste the best tapas in the area accompanied by live music and a festive train ride. The 8-ball billiards championship will be another of the activities that will mark the beginning of the program. Saturday December 14 will be a special date for music lovers with the expected return of Kamikaze, a local band that returns to the stage to make Ses Païsses vibrate.
Solidarity and tradition
On Sunday, December 15, solidarity will be the main protagonist with a popular frita de matanzas organized to raise funds in support of children affected by the DANA. This initiative will be complemented with the II Contest of Frita de Matanzas and a second hand market in Can Bonet. The evening will close with the blessing of the nativity scene in the parish, followed by the play ‘8 apellidos ibicencos’, a cultural wink for the whole family.
Activities for all tastes
Throughout the week, between December 16 and 20, board game lovers will be able to participate in championships of tute, parcheesi, chess and dominoes. For the little ones, December 20 will be a special day with the arrival of Santa Claus, magic shows and bouncy castles. Music and gastronomy will be the protagonists again on December 21 with the traditional torrada de gerret and sobrasada, while on Sunday December 22 there will be a tribute to the elderly with mass, country dancing and the solidarity exhibition of racing vehicles. An agenda that extends into January
The big day of the Holy Family, December 29, will include mass, procession, traditional dances and a tasting of fritters and wine. The final touch will come with the theatrical performance A mare arreveixinada. The celebrations will extend into January with events such as the Three Kings Parade on the 6th and a tribute meal for the elderly on the 18th, closing more than a month of activities that invite neighbors and visitors to enjoy the festive spirit of Sant Antoni.
