The data reveal a generalized increase in the five municipalities of the island:
- Ibiza: It now has 53,228 inhabitants, making it the most populated municipality on the island.
- Santa Eulària: It has surpassed 42,000 residents for the first time, registering a total of 42,005 inhabitants.
- Sant Josep: Reached 30,480 residents, remaining the third most populated municipality in Ibiza.
- Sant Antoni: It has 28,884 inhabitants, reflecting a sustained growth.
- Sant Joan: With 6,888 residents, it is still the least populated municipality, but it has also experienced an increase in its census.
A phenomenon shared with the Balearic Islands and all of Spain
The population growth of Ibiza is part of a broader trend in the Balearic Islands, where the population has increased by 21,862 people in one year, reaching 1,231,768 residents. This increase of 1.8% positions the islands as the third community with the highest population growth in Spain, only behind Madrid and the Valencian Community. Nationally, the total population of Spain has reached 48,619,695 inhabitants, with a growth of more than 500,000 people in one year. Ibiza and the Balearic Islands, in general, have become attractive destinations for both national and international residents, reflecting an increased demand for housing and services.
More men than women in Ibiza and Formentera
An interesting fact is that, unlike the national average, where there are more women than men, in Ibiza and Formentera the opposite is true. On the island of Ibiza, men represent 51% of the total population, with 82,391 men compared to 79,094 women. This trend is repeated in Formentera, where 5,893 men and 5,590 women reside.
