Vox in Santa Eulària has expressed its concern about what it considers a “growing insecurity” in the municipality, pointing out recent episodes of assaults on neighbors that have been spread on social networks. According to the formation, these facts are not isolated and recall a similar incident occurred months ago, when they denounced the assault on a couple in the same town. From Vox have assured that their criticism is not focused on the origin of the alleged aggressors, but on the management of the municipal government team led by the Popular Party and its mayor, Carmen Ferrer. “It is the municipal misgovernment that is allowing situations like these to be repeated,” they said in a statement.
Accusations against the local government
The party has accused the government team of prioritizing other areas of spending over security. According to Vox, “the Popular Party is more concerned about silencing these facts through its broadcast channels than solving the problems”. In addition, they criticize that the mayor has decided to allocate the taxes of the neighbors to projects such as the Palacio de Congresos instead of strengthening the resources allocated to citizen security.
