The farewell to 2024 in Ibiza was far from calm. During the early hours of New Year’s Eve, the streets of the city experienced tense moments, with two drivers who fled after causing accidents, neighborhood complaints about an out-of-control party and a positive result in a breathalyzer test. The Ibiza Local Police deployed an operation that culminated with sanctions and evictions to maintain order on one of the most intense nights of the year.
Leaks after the accidents in ses Figueretes
In the ses Figueretes area, two vehicles caused damage to street furniture and signage before their drivers left the scene without taking responsibility.
However, the escape attempt did not do them much good, as the agents managed to locate them later and proceed with the corresponding reports.
Clandestine party and neighborhood complaints
The night did not only bring traffic incidents. Neighbors in a residential area alerted about noises and loud music coming from a store that, although it kept its doors closed, could not hide the crowd inside.
Before 8:00 a.m., local police officers burst into the establishment, evicted the attendees and sanctioned those in charge of the premises for not complying with current regulations.
Driving under the influence of alcohol
Meanwhile, on the Juan Carlos I promenade, a driver was intercepted during a breathalyzer control, where he tested positive, adding one more denunciation to the list of infractions registered during the early hours of the morning.
