This Sunday, January 5th, the magic of the Three Wise Men will illuminate the streets of Ibiza with a parade full of surprises and novelties. Melchior, Gaspar and Balthazar will arrive at 6 pm at the port of Es Martell to begin a journey that will distribute illusion and 1,500 kilos of candy around the city. The mayor of the Ibizan capital, Rafael Triguero, stressed that this edition will have 480 participants and seven floats designed by artists Streakka and El Industrial, who have created a vibrant and colorful parade.
A tour full of magic
After disembarking at Es Martell, the Cavalcade will continue its traditional route along Bartomeu de RossellĆ³, Isidor Macabich Avenue, PaĆs ValenciĆ Street and EspaƱa Avenue, until concluding at Paseo de Vara de Rey.
There, Their Majesties and the Mayor will address a few words to the public and the act of delivery of the magic keys that open all the houses of the city will take place, allowing the Kings to distribute gifts on the most anticipated night of the year.
Inclusivity and new developments
The City Council of Eivissa has opted for an inclusive parade. There will be areas reserved for the elderly in the avenue of Ignasi Wallis and spaces adapted for children with autism spectrum disorders near the church of Roser, where the volume of music will be reduced and noise-canceling headphones will be distributed. As a novelty, this year one more float will be added to the procession. Among the seven floats are the enchanted forest, Mary Poppins, the royal letter carrier and the star of the Orient, which includes a tribute to the City, in addition to those dedicated to Melchior, Gaspar and Balthazar.
Visits and special arrangements
Before the parade, the Three Wise Men will visit the children hospitalized in Can Misses, bringing a message of hope. In addition, between January 3 and 4, a royal letter carrier will be in the Plaza del Parque from 17:30 hours to collect letters from the little ones. To ensure safety, the Local Police and Civil Protection will coordinate a special device throughout the event. “Our goal is to say goodbye to Christmas with the joy experienced in the municipality during these holidays,” said Francisco Torres, councilman of Fiestas, while the mayor invited citizens to enjoy with the family: “I hope that the Three Kings leave many gifts and little coal in the houses of Ibiza“. The night of January 5 promises to be an unforgettable show, full of magic, emotion and tradition in the heart of Ibiza.
