The Minister for Digital Transformation and the Civil Service and Secretary General of the PSOE-M, Óscar López, has called this Saturday for “tranquility” to the mutualists of Muface and has highlighted the “unprecedented efforts” of the Government in the health field.
López assured that the extension of the service guarantees the current coverage while the details of the new agreement for the healthcare of civil servants are being finalized. Speaking to the media before attending the screening of the documentary ‘7,291’ on the first months of the pandemic in retirement homes in the Community of Madrid, López stressed that the new healthcare concert has a budget of 4,500 million euros over three years, which represents an increase of more than 30% and almost 1,000 million euros more than the previous agreement. “I reiterate the message: peace of mind,” insisted the minister, who explained that the service has been extended in accordance with the law on contracts, so that mutualists are covered at all times. He also pointed out that the Government is awaiting the response of the insurers to close the new agreement. As for the criticisms of the Community of Madrid, which is demanding an economic consideration if the public health system assumes the assistance of the mutualists, López charged against the government of Isabel Díaz Ayuso, stating that it should “finance and strengthen public healthcare instead of cutting it and deteriorating it”.
