The Ibizan Toni Vingut and the Catalan Gerard Farrés reach the fifth position in the general classification of the Dakar Rally 2025, within the Side by Side (SSV) category. After completing the first two stages, they accumulated a total time of 18 hours, 54 minutes and 49 seconds, with a gap of 1 hour, 56 minutes and 57 seconds over the leaders, Frenchmen Xavier de Soultrait and Martin Bonnet of the Sebastien Loeb Racing team. In the second stage, with a distance of 992 kilometers between Bisha and Bisha, the Pedregà Team finished in sixth position. Despite the difficulties of the route, Vingut highlights in his social networks: “Very hard but with good feelings”, making clear his confidence in the coming days.
A challenging start: Ibiza stands out from the very first stage
The first stage of the Dakar Rally 2025 was a demanding test for the competitors. Toni Vingut, along with Gerard Farrés, managed to place ninth in the SSV category, after overcoming several setbacks, such as an incident in which their vehicle was left resting on two wheels and a puncture that complicated the day. Despite these difficulties, they completed the 499 kilometers of the initial route in five hours, 37 minutes and 25 seconds, climbing from 14th place in the prologue to ninth place in the overall classification.
An upward trajectory
After the second stage, the team remains one of the most competitive in the category. Dakar veteran Gerard Farrés is making his eighteenth participation, while Toni Vingut, making his debut as co-driver after several editions in the quad category, continues to adapt successfully to this new modality and overcoming the challenges of this demanding competition.
