The Civil Guard of Sant Josep has arrested a young man of 24 years, of South American origin, for his alleged involvement in a crime against public health. The arrest took place in the early hours of January 5, during a control operation of people and vehicles in a central street of the town. The objective of this type of control is to reinforce security at critical transit points and prevent illegal activities related to drug trafficking.
The finding in the control
As part of the operation, the officers stopped a motorcycle for a routine inspection. During the identification procedure, the driver’s behavior aroused suspicions, which prompted a thorough search. In the vehicle and in the possession of the detainee, the agents found several doses of cocaine, MDMA, pink cocaine, and Viagra. This along with more than 200 euros in split bills, evidence commonly associated with narcotics distribution activities.
Immediate consequences
In view of the facts, the agents proceeded to arrest the suspect and transfer him to the Guardia Civil police station. The investigation will continue to determine whether the detainee acted independently or as part of a drug trafficking network on the island.
