The 5K Ibiza-Platja d’en Bossa will celebrate its fifth edition this Sunday, consolidating its position as a key event in the sporting calendar of the island with a participation that promises to set a record. The race, officially presented this week by the Consell de Ibiza and the City Council of Sant Josep, will feature runners of all levels, highlighting the notable female presence, which reaches 47% of those registered. The organizers have pointed out the positive impact of the event, both sporting and social, in one of the most emblematic areas of the island.
The race will start at 9:00 a.m. from Red Gamba Street and participants will run two laps in a circuit that will end next to the Nassau Beach parking lot. This format, described by the authorities as “fast and accessible”, seeks to attract both experienced runners and those who are new to running.
Impact on traffic and neighborhood collaboration
The event, which is expected to be very crowded, will involve temporary traffic restrictions in Platja d’en Bossa. The road between the Palladium Hotel and La Sirena Shopping Center will be closed from 9:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. to ensure the safety of participants.
The organization has requested the cooperation of the neighbors to minimize the inconveniences during this interval.
Trophies and bibs: final details
The collection of race bibs will be available at La Sirena Shopping Center on Friday and Saturday prior to the race. At the end of the race, 62 trophies will be awarded in different categories. With an attractive circuit and an organization that promises to exceed expectations, the 5K Ibiza-Platja d’en Bossa is an unmissable event for both sports lovers and those looking to enjoy the vibrant sporting atmosphere of the island.
