During the inspection, a city bus was selected for search, and the agents gained access to the interior along with the specialized dog. The animal was quick to clearly mark one of the passengers, which led the agents to ask the man to collect his belongings for a more detailed search. Among his personal belongings, a bag containing a significant amount of marijuana was located.
Immediate arrest and charges
After confirmation of the discovery, the passenger was immediately arrested and charged with a crime against public health. The amount of marijuana seized, more than 100 grams, was sufficient to proceed with his arrest and subsequent transfer to court.
Effective operations in Sant Josep
The Civil Guard highlighted the effectiveness of these types of controls, which seek to reinforce security in public spaces and combat drug trafficking. Operations such as this one underline the value of collaboration between agents and specialized units such as the Cinological group, whose trained dogs play a crucial role in the detection of illicit substances. The case is now in the hands of the judicial authorities, while investigations continue to determine whether the detainee could be linked to a wider drug trafficking network in the area.
