The Guardia Civil has arrested a 41-year-old man in Sant Antoni accused of several crimes, including breach of a court order, resistance and disobedience and assault against law enforcement officers. The incident occurred last December 16, when the agents went to his home after receiving an alert about a possible illegal detention.
A tense operation in Sant Antoni
The tip-off, received at around 9:00 p.m., alerted to the alleged holding of a woman at the detainee’s home. The victim had a protection order that prevented any contact with the man. Upon arrival at the scene, the agents were met by the suspect, who showed a violent attitude and, according to police sources, appeared to be under the influence of narcotic substances. The individual, far from cooperating, insulted and threatened to kill the officers. He then took a large stick and tried to attack them, although the blows were dodged. In this situation, the agents proceeded to reduce and arrest him.

After securing the situation, the agents entered the house to check if the detainee’s ex-partner was there. Although they did not find the woman, they did find belongings that confirmed her recent presence in the house. At that moment, the detainee acknowledged that the woman had been in the house, thus violating the restraining order issued by the court. The man was taken to police headquarters and remains in custody as allegedly responsible for the crimes of breach of court order, resistance and disobedience and assault against law enforcement officers.
