The First Section of the Provincial Court of Palma judges this Wednesday (12.30 pm) a man who was caught in Santa Eulalia des Riu carrying almost a kilo of cannabis resin and more than 100 grams of cocaine, substances that he allegedly intended to sell.
For these facts, the Prosecutor’s Office asks that he be sentenced to five years in prison and to pay a fine of 15,500 euros as the alleged perpetrator of a crime against public health. According to the prosecutor in his indictment, the facts took place at noon on March 15, 2021, when the man, of Moroccan nationality, was surprised by agents of the Civil Guard in a supermarket in Santa Eulalia. When they searched him, they found a dozen blocks of cannabis resin totaling 982.48 grams and whose approximate market value was 5,992 euros. They also seized two plastic bags containing 204 plastic wrappers containing a total of 123.79 grams of cocaine, valued at 7,630 euros. In addition, he was carrying 935 Euros in divided banknotes. All these substances, according to the Public Prosecutor’s Office, had been acquired by the accused in order to sell them or give them to third parties.
