The City Council of Sant Antoni is finalizing the drafting of the Municipal Emergency Plan (PEMU) and the Municipal Action Plan against the risk of flooding in the municipality (PAMIN) to identify the risks and determine the means and resources of the municipality to cope with such situations.
The documents are in the final stages after the technical meetings held by the Councillor for Public Safety, Neus Mateu, the head of the Local Police of Sant Antoni, Alejandro Ponce, and the head of the Civil Protection Group, Domingo Lopez, with the drafting team of the contracted consultant, Geolat. The drafting of the plans, which are mandatory by law of the National Civil Protection System, also has an “exhaustive field work” that has allowed to know in detail the characteristics of the municipality to a possible emergency, has determined the consistory in a note. On the one hand, the Municipal Emergency Plan (PEMU) aims to identify the “most significant” risks present in the municipal territory, and to highlight the capabilities and resources, as well as the coordination scheme with other public administrations. For its part, the Municipal Action Plan against the risk of flooding in the municipality (PAMIN) aims to achieve maximum protection for people, property and the environment that may be affected by flooding. To this end, it establishes a hierarchical and functional structure of the municipality’s means and resources, both public and private, and details an updated catalog of susceptible areas and an action protocol for these areas. Once finalized, the plans will be delivered to the consistory and to the Planning Service of the SEIB 112 for their revision and the period of allegations, public exposition and the homologation by the Civil Protection Commission of the Balearic Islands will begin. Finally, it will be taken to its final approval.
