A group of 18 people of North African origin was intercepted during the early hours of Saturday morning in the municipality of Sant Josep, in Ibiza. The local authorities received the alert at 4:14 am, initiating a coordinated operation between the Guardia Civil and the Local Police for the location and care of migrants.

The discovery took place on dry land, and all the migrants, who appear to be in good health, were taken to the appropriate authorities for further processing. The authorities have not reported the presence of minors in the group. This operation is in addition to the usual interventions on the island, which is a frequent point of arrival for patera-type boats coming from North Africa.
Reinforcement on the coasts of Ibiza
The security forces of Sant Josep and Sant Antoni have intensified patrols along the coast of Ibiza, given the increasing arrival of migrants in small boats in recent weeks. This reinforcement is carried out in collaboration with Salvamento Marítimo, which works to ensure safety in the nearby waters.
