A Formentera resident walking along the beach of ses Illetes this Thursday found a suspicious black bag on the shore. After handing it over to the Local Police, the Civil Guard took charge of it.
According to the Peripheral Communications Office (OPC), the bag contained four packets of pills, presumably ecstasy, with a total weight of more than 30 kilos. Although analyses are still being carried out to confirm the substance, it is estimated that the black market value of this find could be in the millions. Based on the calculations provided by the Civil Guard after the Adriatic operation, the market value would exceed half a million euros and, depending on the weight of the pills, it would be around one million euros, at a rate of 10 euros for each tablet. This type of discovery is not unusual in the islands.
