La SD Ibiza achieved a long awaited and much needed victory this Sunday against CE Sabadell by 1-0, in the framework of the 20th day of the Second RFEF, which moves them away from the relegation places. The Ibizans were coming from a very tough crisis in terms of results. The last victory had been in November against Valencia and then they had lost in four and drawn in the other three matches they had played since then. This Sunday, the Ibizans were facing a tough opponent, as Sabadell was at the top of the standings.
Red first half
From the first minutes of the match, SD Ibiza came out determined to win the game, with a lot of rhythm and taking possession of the ball from the start. The visitors did not lag behind and at times it was a match of equals, where both had their moments. However, SD Ibiza was the one that generated more danger in the opponent’s goal and that allowed them to reach the goal. At 35 minutes, Simón Lecea gives a great assist to Mario Riquelme, who sends the ball into the back of the net, so that SD Ibiza goes to the break with victory.
Second half even
After the break, the match became much more even, with Sabadell starting to raise its level and coming more clearly. At 62 minutes, Frías saved the home goal, while at 69 minutes, the referee decided to disallow a goal to the visitors. After these two scares, SD Ibiza decided to stand firm in defense, keeping the result and taking the victory by 1-0.
Next match and classification
