A fire declared last night in a cave in Es Soto mobilized the emergency services in Ibiza. The fire, detected at 21:51 hours, was spotted by intervention teams from the top of the wall, which allowed rapid action to contain the flames.
The D30 emergency unit was the first to arrive at the scene and acted immediately with fire extinguishers to stop the spread of the fire. Shortly after, members of the Bombers de Ibiza joined the extinguishing efforts, managing to extinguish the fire without any major damage or injuries.
The causes of the fire are under investigation, although no hypothesis has been ruled out.
This is the second time in three weeks that local firefighters have responded to a fire in the area. On January 11, in the early morning hours, mattresses and garbage were burned in a cave, possibly inhabited, although no injuries were reported.
