The Ibiza Town Hall will approve in the next plenary session the definitive and free transfer of a municipal plot of land to IBAVI for the construction of 65 subsidized housing units for rent. This new project will be developed on a plot of 4,020 square meters located in Sant Vicent de sa Cala street, next to the Can Cantó public school. The government team, led by Mayor Rafael Triguero, seeks with this measure to increase the supply of public housing in the city and promote access to affordable rentals. The transfer of this land is part of the comprehensive plan “Ibiza, a city to live in”, which aims to expand the public housing stock and provide solutions to the growing demand for housing on the island. This project is in addition to the recent agreements between the Town Hall and the Balearic Government, within the build-to-rent program, which also includes the transfer of other plots of land for the construction of more rental housing. With this initiative, Eivissa advances in its commitment to the creation of affordable housing, making it easier for more families to have access to a home in an increasingly complex real estate market.
