When asked again by La Voz de Ibiza, the City Council has not specified which regulations have been violated nor under which administrative figure could be included in a possible municipal action.
The municipal response contrasts with the position of the Balearic Government. The General Directorate of Natural Environment and Forest Management has confirmed to La Voz de Ibiza that the area where the filming took place is not included in the Natura 2000 Network and is not part of any protected natural area, so it is not within its competence.It would not need our authorization for filming,” said the Ministry, which adds that it has not received any complaint about these facts. The Government points out that any additional assessment would correspond, if necessary, to the municipal level.
What could the City Council analyze now
In the videos published by the Colombian DJ Fabi Hernández, he can be seen playing alone, without a visible audience, with Es Vedrà in the background. That is,there are no bars, concentrations of people or a party, which places the case closer to a musical or promotional recording than a recreational call.
In the absence of explanations from Sant Josep, the possible municipal action does not seem to be linked to an environmental infraction, but to issues of local competence, such as the regulation of filming, the punctual use of public space, the installation of sound equipment or the possible use of drones (which would result from the filming).
La Voz de Ibiza has contacted the DJ and his management team, without having obtained a response so far. In his publication, the artist only describes Ibiza as a “magical” place for his career and promotes the complete set on YouTube, without alluding to permits or administrative authorizations.
The Colombian DJ has had a recurring relationship with Ibiza for years, where he has performed in different seasons and has used the island as a stage for sessions and audiovisual content linked to his musical project. His style is based on the fusion of Latin rhythms and the essence of house music.
Background
The case brings to mind other musical performances outside authorized spaces in Sant Josep. On June 24, 2025, the City Council imposed a fine of 300,000 euros to DJ Diplo for a party held a year earlier, on June 24, 2024, at the viewpoint of Cala d’Hort.
Subsequently, on April 15, 2025, the Local Police issued a report after detecting a DJ set in a cave near Cala Comte, without an audience or music playing, but with professional equipment, as it was considered an activity without permits, with penalties that could reach 30,000 euros.
Although the case does not concern the landing on the islet, Es Vedra is still one of the most guarded enclaves of the Ibizan coast.. The regional regulations establish that what is expressly forbidden is to disembark, while navigation or approach by sea is not forbidden, as the Government has recalled on other occasions.
