Ibiza lived this Sunday an unforgettable sporting day with the first edition of the Ibiza Sprint Triathlon, where Antonio Serrat and Susana Sevillano shone as the big winners. Organized by AD Ibiza Half Triathlon, the event brought together more than a hundred athletes in a privileged environment that turned the Paseo de Figueretes into the epicenter of the action.
Antonio Serrat meets the forecasts
Olympic triathlete Antonio Serrat, who competed in the Paris 2024 Games, showed his superiority in the competition and won with a time of 52:46. Serrat imposed his pace from the start and crossed the finish line without leaving any options to his rivals. Guillem Tomeu, the best local athlete, took second place, although he was six minutes behind the champion, while Marc Vallve, promising youngster and Balearic aquathlon champion, completed the podium.
Susana Sevillano shines among women
In the women’s category, the victory went to the Ibizan Susana Sevillano, who stopped the timer in 1:05:13. Sevillano showed her experience and won with authority, leaving in second place Victoria Benavides and, in third position, the 16-year-old Marta Bonet, who surprised with her performance.
Outstanding participation and an event that leaves its mark
The competition also counted with the participation of figures from other sports, such as the Olympic swimmer Jessica Vall, the cyclist and Tour de France champion Óscar Pereiro, and the Olympic athlete Reyes Estévez. In addition, the Ibizan chef Álvaro Sanz joined the race, completing the course and receiving the applause of the public. All of them agreed in praising the organization and the atmosphere that was experienced during the day, highlighting the constant encouragement of the spectators.
