The Eivissa Town Hall presented the prizes for the Christmas Balcony and Shop Window Decoration Contest, an initiative promoted with the aim of filling the streets of the municipality with light, creativity and Christmas atmosphere, while encouraging citizen participation and local commerce.
The award ceremony was held on Tuesday afternoon at the Paseo de Vara de Rey and was chaired by the third deputy mayor, Blanca Hernandez, who wanted to publicly recognize the effort and involvement of all participants in this first edition of the contest.
The winners of the contest
In the category of Commercial Shop Windows, the first prize went to Los Catalanes Hogar, followed by Princess Ibiza, which won second prize, and Mascotas Cora, which won third place.
In the category of Balconies, windows and facades, the first prize went to a balcony located at Carrer de Catalunya, 27. The second prize went to a house in Carrer de Formentera, while the third prize went to Carrer de Sant Cristòfol, 17.
A participatory Christmas with local identity
During the ceremony, Blanca Hernández highlighted the good reception of this first edition of the contest, which, she said, has shown that in Ibiza “there is a lot of desire to participate and to make city”. In this sense, she stressed that “the balconies and shop windows have filled the streets with light and illusion, and this is thanks to the efforts of neighbors, neighbors and merchants”.
The third deputy mayor also valued the role of local commerce and citizen involvement, noting that “initiatives like this help to boost trade, to strengthen the sense of community and to live Christmas in a more shared and closer way”.
Awards to promote commerce in the municipality
The prizes awarded consist of shopping coupons to spend in the stores of the municipality, a measure designed to further promote the local commercial fabric during the Christmas holidays and promote the local economy.
The Eivissa Town Hall has made a very positive assessment of this first edition of the contest, with the desire to consolidate it and give it continuity in the coming years, as a Christmas event that helps to beautify the city and strengthen the link between neighbors, businesses and visitors.
