Ibiza has lived this Tuesday, January 6, 2026, a morning full of emotion and solidarity thanks to La Vuelta a Ibiza MTB Siroko by Shimano. The organization of the historic sporting event has kicked off the commemorative events of its 25th anniversary with a very special action at the Can Misses Hospital, coinciding with the celebration of Three Kings Day.
The aim of the initiative was to bring hope and joy to the children in the hospital, turning a difficult day for many families into a memory full of hope and closeness.
A journey full of humanity
The visit was led by Juanjo Planells, organizer of the event, along with several members of the Vuelta a Ibiza MTB Siroko by Shimano team. Accompanied by Eduardo Escudero Cuadrillero, manager of the Can Misses Hospital, they have toured different areas of the center, greeting and sharing moments with hospitalized children and their families.
During the morning, the retinue passed through different services, stopping to talk to the little patients and convey the positive spirit that characterizes the cycling event.
Bicycles as gifts for Epiphany
One of the most emotional moments of the day was the delivery of bicycles to some of the children in the hospital, thus fulfilling one of their greatest wishes on a day as important as Epiphany. A gesture that has brought smiles and filled with illusion both the children and their families.
The solidarity action continued in the maternity area, where the organization wanted to share this symbolic detail with the newborns and their parents, before ending the tour in the emergency department.
An anniversary that starts with social commitment
Juanjo Planells has highlighted the deep sense of this initiative at the beginning of the 25th anniversary of the event. “The Vuelta a Ibiza MTB was born out of sport and commitment to our island,” he said, stressing that there was no better way to start this celebration than being close to those who need it most.
He also highlighted the human component of the action, recalling that “seeing the excitement of the children and their families on a day as special as Epiphany” gives meaning to all the effort behind the event.
Planells concluded by emphasizing that, although the bicycle is the symbol of the MTB Tour of Ibiza, on this occasion what was really important was to share a moment of joy, hope and companionship with the little patients.
