Ibiza and Formentera will experience this Friday a day of meteorological truce before the arrival of a new front that on Saturday will leave heavy and persistent rains throughout the archipelago.
According to the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET), this Friday there will be little cloudy skies in the Pitiusas, with low probability of some weak and isolated showers. Temperatures will remain stable or with a slight decrease, and will blow light to moderate wind from the west.
However, the situation will change significantly from the early hours of Saturday morning, when an active front is expected to arrive and bring widespread rainfall, with accumulations that could reach up to 80 liters per square meter in 12 hours.
The AEMET keeps activated the yellow warning for risk of heavy rains in Ibiza and Formentera, and recommends extreme caution due to the possibility of storms and gusts of wind.
The Emergency Service will continue to monitor the weather evolution in the coming hours, while local authorities ask the public to avoid outdoor activities and to plan ahead for travel during the weekend.
