The medical management of the Can Misses Hospital will finally maintain its two top managers: the medical director, Sausan Sayed, and the deputy surgical director, Manel Deiros. In this way, the new manager of the Health Area of Ibiza and Formentera, Eduardo Escudero, has begun his mandate closing the configuration of his management team and guaranteeing the continuity of both professionals, whose permanence was one of his priorities.
Both Sayed and Deiros were scheduled to leave in December to return to their care posts – she to the Rehabilitation Department and he to the General and Digestive Surgery Department. Both resigned in September, without publicly explaining their reasons, and gave the previous management team three months to find replacements. Their departure, however, generated strong internal unrest, as more than 20 heads of service sent a letter to the president of the Govern, Marga Prohens, and the director of Ib-Salut, Javier Ureña, warning that their loss would mean an “internal crisis” and an “inestimable loss”.
With his continuity confirmed, Escudero completes the new management team of the Health Area. Sayed will continue to head the Medical Directorate of Hospital Care and Judith Frías will continue as medical director of Primary Care. Together with them, Marí remains as Director of Management and Neus Torres as head of Nursing, a management that had already been restructured recently and that incorporates Sara Soriano as Pharmacy supervisor and Laura Iglesias as head of the Internal Medicine G unit, according to Periódico de Ibiza.
In the sub-directorates, Deiros will continue to be in charge of the hospital, while Teresa Aparicio will continue in the medical sub-directorate of Primary Care after replacing Sara Navarro during the last few months. In Nursing, Rocío Barrios and Abraham Fuentes will head the hospital sub-directorate, and Eva Moreno will continue as deputy director of Primary Care Nursing. In the area of management and general services, Antonio Vázquez (Infrastructures), Cristian Coll (Human Resources) and Gonzalo Espí as Deputy Director of Management of the Hospital de Formentera will repeat their positions.
