Francisco Ferrer Tur has been dismissed as deputy director of the Agency for Tourism Strategy of the Balearic Islands (AETIB), according to an agreement approved by the Consell de Govern in its session of November 7, 2025. The departure from the post took effect on October 31, after just over two years in the position.
The decision was formalized through a resolution signed by the president of the AETIB on October 23rd, and subsequently communicated to the Consell de Govern for its knowledge, as established by the autonomous regulation applicable to the entities of the instrumental public sector.
“The Governing Council […] acknowledged the resignation of Mr. Francisco Ferrer Tur, as director of the Tourism Strategy Agency of the Balearic Islands, effective October 31, 2025, thanking him for the services rendered,” states the BOIB.
Change within the organization chart
From the Conselleria de Turismo, Cultura y Deportes have confirmed to La Voz de Ibiza that the relief “is not due to anything in particular, it is a reorganization of the organization chart”, and have specified that Ferrer Tur is still linked to the AETIB as an advisor.
The same resolution of the Consell de Govern also notified the appointment of Jesús Joaquín Ardáiz Elizalde as the new deputy director of the body dependent on the Govern, as stated in the BOIB (Official Gazette of the Government of the Balearic Islands).
Track record linked to tourism and public communication
Ferrer Tur was appointed deputy director of the AETIB by resolution of August 14, 2023, although his appointment was publicly announced at the end of September.
With a degree in Education Sciences, he has a long career linked to the tourism industry, especially on the island of Formentera.
Between 2007 and 2011 he was a councilor in the Consell de Formentera for the PP, and later, between 2012 and 2019, he was part of the Board of Directors of IB3, the public broadcaster of the Balearic Islands.
On the other hand, in October 2024, in the midst of the political and institutional crisis of the government of Sa Unió, the Autonomous Executive Committee of the Popular Party appointed him as president of a management commission to govern temporarily the insular board of the Popular Party in Formentera.
