The Consell de Ibiza has expressed this Tuesday its “institutional respect” towards the heritage technician Joan Ramon Torres, after the references that arose as a result of the negative accésit of GEN-GOB in the Premis Formigó. The institution recalls that public employees “exercise their functions with responsibility and dedication”, stressing that their work is part of the ordinary functioning of the administration.
In its statement, the Consell emphasizes that Torres has contributed for years to the area of heritage, participating in processes of documentation, management and monitoring of files related to the historical and archaeological heritage of the island. The institution remarks that his accumulated experience and technical knowledge have been at the service of the Consell throughout his professional career.
Appreciation and defense of the technical work
The insular government thanks “the contribution” of the technician in the functions that have been entrusted to him, and claims the importance of the work developed by the technical teams of the heritage area. The Consell stresses that it remains committed to continue working with rigor and professionalism in the protection of the cultural heritage of Ibiza.
The institution concludes that the work of its professionals must be evaluated objectively and respectfully, reaffirming its desire to guarantee the continuous and responsible management of the island’s heritage.
