DIGI, the Romanian telecommunications operator that has conquered the Spanish market with its competitive tariffs, is facing a new challenge: user complaints about loss of mobile coverage. In recent weeks, dozens of customers have reported through social networks a noticeable decrease in signal quality, even in urban areas where there were no connection problems before.
The phenomenon coincides with a key moment for the company, which is studying a possible IPO to finance its expansion in Spain. Since its arrival in 2008, DIGI has recorded dizzying growth, driven by its low-price policy and the trust of millions of users. However, this rapid development has also brought with it a series of technical challenges that, according to industry sources, are putting its infrastructure to the test.
Users report signal loss in several regions
Complaints began to multiply at the end of October. On the social network
However, DIGI has categorically denied this information. In an official statement, the operator clarified that its mobile service continues to operate over the Movistar network, one of the most solid and with the best coverage in the country. “No migration process is being carried out,” the company assured, attributing the signal problems to specific incidents or to erroneous configurations in the devices of some users.
DIGI’s response: guide to regaining coverage
To reassure customers and offer practical solutions, DIGI has published an official technical guide with simple steps to try to restore the signal in case of loss of coverage. These recommendations, also available on its website, are as follows:
- Restart the mobile device: this action resolves possible temporary failures and allows you to reconnect to the network system correctly.
- Enable and disable airplane mode: forcing a reset of wireless connections may resolve momentary synchronization errors.
- Remove and reinsert the SIM card: this measure helps to rule out physical contact failures between the card and the phone.
- Reset the network configuration: by doing so, possible persistent errors affecting connectivity are eliminated.
In addition, the operator reminds that mobile coverage depends on multiple external factors, such as geographic location, network saturation, weather conditions or local interference. Therefore, signal fluctuations in crowded areas or areas far from urban centers are normal and can affect any company.
Problems intensify since the end of October
According to data collected by real-time incident monitoring platforms, problems in DIGI’s network have intensified since the end of October. The main problems are concentrated in
In response, the company has reiterated that customers can contact its technical service through its official channels (website, social networks or telephone support) to receive personalized assistance. DIGI guarantees that each case will be analyzed individually to offer the most appropriate solution according to the nature of the incident.
DIGI: accelerated growth and technical challenges
Since its arrival in Spain in 2008, DIGI has gone from being an unknown operator to become one of the major players in the sector. With millions of customers throughout the country, its success has been based on offering high-speed telephony and internet services at affordable prices. This growth has driven investments in infrastructure and its own fiber network, although the pace of expansion also poses technical challenges to maintain service stability.
The company is currently studying an IPO as part of its strategy to consolidate its position and finance its development in Spain. If confirmed, it would be one of the most important moves in the sector in recent years and would mark a new stage for the operator.
