The general director of IB3 Ràdio i Televisióthe journalist Albert Salas, maintains his intention to leave the direction of the regional broadcaster, something he is expected to do at the end of this month or early March, IB3 sources have informed.
Salas expressed this intention on December 20, when he clarified in a tweet that he had not submitted his resignation but had told his team that he was“tired after an exhausting 2024” and that he wanted to “reflect on the future”.
“Exit is on my mind, true, but @IB3 is above all else. Always,” he wrote at the time.
Salas was elected general director of IB3 by the Balearic Parliament in November 2023 at the proposal of the PP, with 40 votes in favor and 19 blank votes.
When he joined IB3 he left the position of communication director of Real Mallorca through a leave of absence. Salas (Binissalem, 1981) worked at IB3 twelve years and in 2017 he took over the communication area of Real Mallorca.
A year full of challenges
Salas’ first year at the helm of IB3 has been marked by challenges related to the management of the public broadcaster, the adaptation to new digital formats and the search for balance between political demands and audience needs.
