The Es Pratet sports center has from this month with a new LED lighting system, more efficient and sustainable.
The City Council of Ibiza, through its Sports Department, has completed the complete replacement of the lighting of the pavilion, an action that will allow an estimated energy saving of up to 60% and a significant improvement in the conditions for sports practice.
The intervention is part of the municipal plan for the improvement of sports facilities and has involved the installation of 32 new LED projectors, replacing the old 400-watt halogen spotlights.
Commitment to efficiency and sustainability
The new technology significantly reduces energy consumption, improves the quality of the pavilion’s interior lighting and reduces maintenance tasks. With this intervention, the Consistory leaves behind an obsolete system, which required constant revisions, and opts for a more durable, efficient and environmentally friendly solution.
The City Council has earmarked some 10,000 euros for this work, an investment that will be amortized thanks to the energy savings generated by the new lighting system.
Improved facilities for athletes and citizens
The Councilor for Sports, Catiana Fuster, stressed that this action “demonstrates the real commitment of this City Council with the improvement and maintenance of sports facilities, while promoting new infrastructure and equipment“.
Fuster also stressed that the project “Eivissa, ciutat de l’esport” is not just a slogan, but “a tangible commitment that citizens and athletes can see and enjoy“.
The lighting renovation of the Es Pratet sports center is one of a number of initiatives promoted by the Ibiza City Council to modernize sports facilities, improve the user experience and move towards a more efficient and sustainable management model.
