The Parliament of the Balearic Islands has unanimously approved the non-legislative proposal promoted by the Popular Party that seeks to allow access to the hydrotherapy pool of Can Raspalls to users of the residences of the Foundation of Care and Support for Dependency and Promotion of Personal Autonomy. This measure, which has received the support of all the groups, was debated in the Social Affairs Commission of the autonomous chamber.
A step towards inclusion and well-being
The PP deputy, Marta Pereira, highlighted during the defense of the initiative the importance of access to hydrotherapy treatments for people with disabilities.
As Pereira explained, hydrotherapy not only facilitates the improvement of the motor system, but also promotes prolonged physical activity in patients, with benefits that can be maintained for up to six months after the end of the sessions. “Aquatic physiotherapy is not only rehabilitative, but also educational and therapeutic, adapted to people with high support needs. Water acts as a key therapeutic agent in these treatments, helping to improve the quality of life of users,” emphasized the deputy.
Boosting inclusive access to hydrotherapy
The proposal is part of an effort to expand the services available to the most vulnerable groups in Ibiza. With this decision, the Can Raspalls pool, a facility designed for therapeutic purposes, will be placed at the service of those who need it most. The aim is to ensure that aquatic activity forms part of the rehabilitative process of dependent users, thus promoting their autonomy and well-being. This PP initiative also underlines the importance of the Balearic Government optimizing the available resources for the benefit of the community, especially for those in a situation of dependency, thus ensuring greater access to specialized and quality treatment.
