The Guardia Civil has rescued in the early hours of Wednesday morning a skiff with 19 people in Formentera. In the last hours have reached the Balearic Islands a total of five boats, with 111 people on board: the remaining 92 have reached the coast of Mallorca.
Specifically, at 06.50 hours has intercepted a boat with 19 people of North African origin, in apparent good health in the area of Estufador. In the operation have intervened troops of the Civil Guard and the Local Police Formentera.
Subsequently, around 09.35, 20 people of sub-Saharan origin, in apparent good health, were rescued in the south of Mallorca. The Provincial Maritime Service of the Civil Guard and Maritime Rescue intervened.
This past early morning 72 migrants had already been rescued who were traveling aboard three boats south of Cabrera, as detailed by the Government Delegation of the Balearic Islands.
With these five, so far this year 20 boats with immigrants have arrived in the Balearic Islands, with a total of 423 occupants.
