The health strike called between December 9 and 12, 2025 had a relevant impact on health care in Ibiza and Formentera, especially in Primary Care and in Can Misses Hospital, according to the provisional activity monitoring data of the Health Service.
In the case of Primary Care of Ibiza and Formentera (AP ASEF), the strike caused the suspension of 1,355 appointments that could not be attended due to reasons beyond the patients’ control. The impact remained stable throughout the four days, with between 295 and 362 appointments cancelled each day, which shows a continuous incidence throughout the strike period.
Multiple cancellations
The Can Misses Hospital also suffered a significant reduction in its healthcare activity. In total,
In the detail of hospital activity, the cancellations of consultations and tests that form part of the usual circuit of diagnosis and follow-up of patients stand out, which will foreseeably force a significant part of the suspended activity to be rescheduled in the coming weeks.
On the other hand, the Formentera Hospital recorded a minimal incidence during the strike. According to the available data, there was only one outpatient activity not attended on the first day, with no relevant effect on the rest of the days or in the surgical area.
The health administration reminds us that these are provisional data, based on different time slices, and that the definitive figures could undergo slight variations once the final balance of the strike has been drawn up.
