RTVE is preparing for this December 31 a New Year’s Eve that aspires to remain in the collective memory. Before the traditional Campanadas, La 1 will broadcast a historical special that will serve as the official opening of La Casa de la Música and as the first great act of celebration of the 70th anniversary of Televisión Española, which will be commemorated throughout 2026. The proposal is designed for all audiences and places music as the backbone of a night full of symbolism, emotion and spectacle.
The program will bring together artists from different generations and styles, in a combination that seeks to reflect the musical and cultural diversity that has accompanied TVE for seven decades. The special is conceived as a sonorous and emotional journey through unique enclaves of the Spanish geography, with performances designed specifically for each space and for this particular moment of transition between years.
La Casa de la Música opens its doors on New Year’s Eve
This special marks the beginning of La Casa de la Música, a new RTVE project that symbolizes the opening of a stage focused on new audiovisual languages, contemporary sensibilities and the connection between tradition and modernity. World premiere of the new single by La Oreja de Van Gogh
One of the most anticipated moments of the night will come from the hand of La Oreja de Van Gogh. The band from San Sebastian will present their new single in a world exclusive at the Miramar Palace in San Sebastian, with the bay of La Concha as a backdrop. This premiere also marks the return of Amaia Montero as the group’s lead vocalist after almost 18 years of absence.
The reunion will take place on a stage full of symbolism, facing the sea, in an image that connects with the history and identity of the group. La Oreja de Van Gogh arrives at this event at a time of enormous impact: they have become the first Spanish group to exceed 17 million monthly listeners on Spotify and have sold almost 500,000 tickets in just 24 hours for their upcoming tour ‘Tantas cosas que contar Tour 2026’.
Nicki Nicole: the power of Latin music on RTVE
RTVE’s New Year’s Eve will also feature Nicki Nicole, one of the most influential figures in Latin music today. The Argentine artist, who breaks records on YouTube and is the performer from her country with the most listeners on Spotify, will travel to Spain to offer an intimate and special performance in a unique location.
With gold and platinum records in Spain and collaborations with artists such as Bizarrap, Trueno, Emilia, Duki or Aitana, Nicki Nicole represents a generation that has crossed borders and connects with young audiences without losing international reach. Her participation reinforces the global and diverse vocation of the special.
Lola Índigo: tradition and avant-garde to bid farewell to the new year.
Lola Índigo will be another of the great protagonists of the night. The artist from Granada, whose career took off in ‘Operación Triunfo’, returns to La 1 making a pause in her current professional break to offer a performance created specifically for this occasion.
A key figure in Spanish urban pop, Lola Indigo has marked a milestone by becoming the first national artist to make a full international stadium tour. She also made Spotify history by being the first Spanish artist to record an exclusive Spotify Singles session in Stockholm. In her New Year’s Eve performance she will fuse tradition and avant-garde to pay tribute to flamenco from a contemporary point of view.
Amaia: return to the network where she was born
Another of the most anticipated performances will be that of Amaia, one of the most beloved Spanish artists by the public. The iconic Ana Torroja, the voice of Mecano (the most successful Spanish group with the most records sold, with 25 million), will bring to the evening an emotionally charged performance.
