The preliminary gala of Miss Universe 2025, which this year takes place in Thailand, was marked by an incident that generated surprise in the auditorium and aroused concern among the 120 contestants, the audience and the production team.
During the evening gown fashion show, Jamaica’s representative, Gabrielle Henry, took a hard fall from the edge of the stage as she advanced down the runway.
How Miss Jamaica’s accident happened
The accident occurred on Wednesday night, during one of the most anticipated rounds of the pageant. Henry, a medical doctor by profession, was steadily advancing in a long orange dress when, taking a step, she lost her balance and fell straight from the platform.
The public reacted with shouts and signs of alarm: within seconds, members of the technical team were on the scene, and medical personnel arrived to attend to her.
Images recorded by attendees and later broadcast on TikTok showed how the contestant was removed from the scene on a stretcher, increasing fears about the possible severity of the injuries.

How is the model’s health after the accident?
Hours after the incident, the Miss Universe Organization (MUO) clarified Henry’s medical situation to reassure viewers. As reported by USA Today, the contestant was stable, with minor injuries, but no fractures or serious damage.
MUO President Raúl Rocha Cantú visited Henry at the hospital in Bangkok, where she remains hospitalized for observation. Through a statement on social media, he shared an update: “Thank God she has no broken bones and is receiving very good care. She will remain under observation for the rest of the night and we will be in communication with her family to support her,” he said.
Although his progress is positive, the organization has not yet confirmed whether Henry will be able to compete in the final gala of the contest, scheduled for November 21.
