Iberostar Waves Berkeley Shore and Iberostar Waves Miami Beach are the names of the two new hotels that mark the return of Iberostar Hotels & Resorts to the United States. Located in Miami’s iconic South Beach neighborhood, both establishments belong to the Iberostar Waves segment, known for its focus on premium vacation experiences. The Mallorcan chain has a hotel in Ibiza, the Iberostar Selection Santa Eulalia . The Iberostar Waves Berkeley Shore, which began operations in December 2024, is located in a 1940s building that retains its art deco architecture. This hotel offers 96 rooms, a heated pool, a solarium overlooking the sea and a specialty restaurant. The Iberostar Waves Miami Beach, which opened in January, has 82 rooms, an ideal space for families and business travelers, a meeting room and proximity to the Miami Convention Center.
Sustainability and high quality services
Both hotels stand out for integrating sustainable practices and energy efficiency improvements, aligning with Iberostar’s sustainability goals. This commitment is also reflected in the strategic location near the beach and landmarks such as Lincoln Road Mall, Ocean Drive and the New World Center, home of the prestigious New World Symphony.
International expansion: a focus on waterfront destinations
These openings are part of Iberostar’s ambitious growth plan, which includes other recent openings, such as the JOIA Aruba by Iberostar, and upcoming openings in April 2025: the Iberostar Selection Mirage Hammamet in Tunisia and the Iberostar Selection Es Trenc in Mallorca. With these additions, the chain reaffirms its leadership in the sustainable beach tourism segment. According to Phil Mc Aveety, CEO of Iberostar, “these openings mark a key milestone in our expansion strategy, combining sustainability, quality and a renewed value proposition in destinations of international relevance”.
Conclusion: a solid commitment to responsible tourism
Iberostar Hotels & Resorts continues its commitment to offering a quality vacation experience in first-class destinations. With its return to Miami, the chain not only consolidates its presence in the U.S. market, but also reinforces its commitment to a sustainable and responsible tourism model.
