The Ibiza airport has started the year breaking records, registering 210,850 passengers in January, an increase of 3.3% compared to the same month in 2024.
The figure reflects the sustained growth of air traffic on the island, driven mainly by domestic flights and a slight increase in international connections.
Growth in domestic and international flights
Of the total number of passengers, 193,808 traveled on domestic flights, representing an increase of 3.3%, consolidating Ibiza as a destination with high connectivity within Spain.
Internationally, 16,945 passengers chose to fly to or from other countries, an increase of 3.5%.
Among the main outbound markets, the Netherlands leads the list with 7,357 passengers, followed by the United Kingdom (3,607 passengers), France (2,852) and Germany (2,455). These figures reflect the growing interest of European tourists in the island even outside the high season.
Increase in air operations
The airport handled 2,674 flight operations, 3.4% more than in January 2024, indicating increased activity at the Ibizan terminal.
The growth of Ibiza airport is part of the positive trend of the Aena Group, which operates 46 airports and two heliports in Spain, in addition to other infrastructures abroad.
In January 2025, Aena handled almost 25 million passengers (+6.2%) and 222,696 aircraft movements (+3.6%), in addition to transporting more than 108,000 tons of cargo (+5.6%).
