Air Nostrum, Iberia’s franchise airline for regional flights, announced Thursday that it will reinforce its schedule during the 2025 Christmas campaign, increasing by 24% the number of seats on its routes with the Balearic Islands and also expanding connectivity with the Canary Islands, Melilla and various domestic airports, in order to meet the expected increase in demand at this time of year.
As reported by the company in a statement, the routes that are operated on a regular basis throughout the year in the Balearic Islands will experience the most significant increases. The Alicante-Ibiza connection will increase its capacity by 24%, while the Ibiza-Valencia link will increase by 27%. In the Balearic archipelago, there will also be significant increases in Mallorca-Valencia, with an increase of 54%, and in Menorca-Valencia, which will practically double its offer with an increase of 81%.
The special Christmas schedule also includes reinforcements on seasonal routes. Passengers from Badajoz will have additional flights to Mallorca on December 19, 23, 26 and 30, and on January 2. In
Expansion of connectivity in the Canary Islands and Melilla
In the Canary Islands, Air Nostrum will operate special flights to reinforce inter-island and mainland connections. From Tenerife, additional connections will be offered to Santiago, Valencia and Valladolid on December 22, 26 and 29, as well as on January 2 and 5. In Gran Canaria, special flights to Valencia and Leon will be available on December 20, 23, 27 and 30, and on January 3.
In Melilla, the airline will increase by 2% the overall supply of seats, keeping active its eight usual routes: Malaga, Barcelona, Almeria, Granada, Gran Canaria, Madrid, Mallorca and Seville. In addition, the routes with the highest demand recorded last year will be reinforced: Granada will increase its capacity by 11%, Almeria by 27%, and Seville by 22%.
International reinforcement with Strasbourg as a major destination
The international schedule will also experience significant growth, especially on the line connecting to Strasbourg, a city that attracts a significant volume of tourists in December due to its well-known Christmas markets. Air Nostrum will operate flights throughout the month:

From Barcelona, on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

These services will be operated with 100-seat CRK aircraft, representing a 76% increase in capacity over the previous year.

With this generalized reinforcement, Air Nostrum seeks to guarantee regional connectivity and meet the mobility needs of the Christmas period, characterized by a significant increase in both domestic and international travel.
